I just had a check and Red One DID do the Alexandra Burke song as well as Lady Gaga. This answers a lot of questions (well one question).

Hahaha thanks stevo for bringing this issue to the foreground, and the folks who have explained. It really confused me the other day, I always thought the bit at the start of Lady Gaga was part of some actual lyrics until we saw it on My Super Sweet 16 and I realised it's just a freestanding blurt-out.

I guess it's like "YO DARKCHILD, CHECK IT OUT etc" that used to frequent 90s RnB.

Like Holla by the Spice Girls.
